Fun Nights - 2nd & 4th Friday each month 6-8 pm

VIP (Mini Blind Support Group) 3rd Tuesday each month @11:00 am

Arts & Crafts- Every Wednesday @ 11:30 am

Card Games everyday @ 1:00 pm -New games added are Phase 10 and Skip Bo

The Scotland Neck Senior

Center Fan Giveaway 

Under the Operation Fan/Heat Relief Program, the Scotland Neck Senior Center will have fans again this year.

In order to participate, you must meet the following requirements:

                 -Must be 60 years of age or older 

-Live in Halifax County 

            -Must show proof of residency 

           -Did not receive a fan last year 

Call the Center for more information 252-826-3891 or come by. Fans will be distributed from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm Monday through Friday

Health Screenings & Promotions 

Halifax County Public Health system Nurse conducts health screenings every second Monday of each month from 11:00 am- 12 noon. They offer blood pressure screening, check heart rate and weight. She refer people with abnormal readings to their primary physician. Results are discussed with seniors and advised on proper diet and exercise.

Community Supplemental Food Program 

Seniors, women, infants, and children can apply. To be eligible, must be 60 years of age or older. Proof of age, Medicaid and income. Food Bank is distributed every second Friday at 1:00 pm. For more information come to the Scotland Neck Senior Center to apply or call 252-826-3891.

Mark Your Calendar for these Upcoming Events

-Watch for Tickets to National Museum of African History in Washington, DC. First come, first served.

-Also MGM Casino, this will be an overnight trip.

-Couples married the longest Golden Anniversary 

-Veterans can sign in at the Center to speak with an Attorney or anyone 60 or older needing legal advice.

-Anyone that would like to bowl, the day and time has changed to Tuesdays at 1:00 pm, in Rocky Mount, NC at the Bowling Alley. Call the Senior Center for more information (252) 826-3891.

Basic Volunteer Information 

All volunteers receive training & orientation before beginning any assignment. Training varies with each opportunity. Generally volunteers should be 18 years of age or older. Younger volunteers should be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Each volunteer will receive a job description and a handbook. Volunteers are recognized each year at our Appreciation Dinner.
